The Queensland Reds’ Eto Nabuli has reportedly signed with French rugby club Bordeaux-Begles.Two more capped Wallabies look set to shift to Europe, with Queensland Reds pair Eto Nabuli and Kane Douglas reportedly in the sights of French rugby club Bordeaux-Begles.

French newspaper Midi Olympique reports the Top 14 club has already signed Fijian-born winger Nabuli and is in advanced discussions with Douglas, who started at lock for in the 2015 World Cup final.

Both players are out of contract with the Reds at the end of the Super Rugby season.

Nabuli, 29, has long been courted by French clubs and it’s understood the Reds were bracing themselves for his departure, having staved off a number of previous raids.

Douglas, however, told reporters in Brisbane two weeks ago he was keen to win back his Wallabies spot for next year’s World Cup in Japan.

The 28-year-old was lured back to n rugby from Irish club Leinster in 2015 with the help of Michael Cheika.

But he has been usurped in the Queensland and n teams in recent times by young guns Izack Rodda and Lukhan Tui.

Capped 31 times for the Wallabies, Douglas’ last international appearance was in December 2016 against England at Twickenham.

The Reds have further second-row depth in the form of the highly rated Harry Hockings, 19, and Angus Blyth, 20.

They also have cover out wide in the event of Nabuli’s exit following the emergence of Izaia Perese and Filipo Daugunu.

Nabuli, who played a season of NRL with St George Illawarra in 2015, was handed his only cap for last year against Scotland.

Asked to verify the reports, a Queensland Rugby Union spokesperson said: “We never discuss contractual issues.”

Bordeaux is already home to halfback Nick Frisby, who’s on loan from the Reds after coach Brad Thorn told him his services weren’t required this year, as well as former Queensland back-rower Leroy Houston.
